This day excursion is designed for those wish to enjoy the highlights of Positano on the Amalfi Coast, the archeological site of Pompeii and a guided visit in a wineyard located in the National Park of Mount Vesuvius where the famous wine Lacryma Christi DOC (Tears of Christ).

You will be greated at the Port of Naples by your driver, before making your way along the Coast to the picturesque coastal village of Positano located on the Amalfi Coast. Here you will spend the duration of the morning, before continuing the day to a vineyard, located at the foot of Mount Vesuvius to enjoy an amazing view of the bay of Naples and a guided visit in the vineyard with a light lunch in a beautiful terraced garden where you can taste the specialty of the area. During your lunch you can taste six different wines of Lacryma Christi among white, red and ros and finish with a distilled grappa of apricot.

The day will continue to the archeological site of Pompeii, the ancient city whose ruins were preserved by the volcanic eruption that devastated it in 79AD, where you can spend the duration of the afternoon before to conclude the day and be returned to the Port of Naples.

* We suggest renting an audio guide or requesting one of our private licensed guides for tours of Pompeii. Pompeii is partly wheelchair accessible.

** You can also visit Herculaneum instead of Pompeii.

*** The cost of the wine tasting tour including the visit in the vineyard and lunch is Euro 20 per person (including drinks).

All rates are quoted in the Euro and are only payable in the Euro currency, at the end of the services. Rates include the use of our luxury vehicles, English speaking driver to and from the port.

I will be waiting in Naples port ( with a sign your name) or your hotel, then we’ll drive to Pompeii, once a thriving empire, the city of Pompeii had about 20,000 inhabitants in 79AD, when it was completely covered in 30 feet of volcanic ash by the deadly eruption of the Mount Vesuvius. Then we’ll drive by Sorrento coast were we can have a couple stop to get beautiful pictures. Then we stop right in the main square of Sorrento were you can have one hour or more to visit this wonderful town. Sorrento is my own town, located on a fabulous cliff, a sheer drop above the bay, it is a tourist paradise, one of the most famous holiday resort in the world, and is there anyone who has never heard the ardent, nostalgic song ”Torna a Surriento”. This is an ideal destination both for elite tourism and for families, with its splendid mansions and prestigious hotels). Were you are going to have a least one hour free time to visit the ancient centre, after Sorrento, I will drop you off in Sorrento port, were you will take the hydrofoil to Capri. Take the funicular (one way ticket for each: Euro 1,30) up to Capri town la piazzetta, lined with wonderful old and new buildings, sidewalk cafes, and of course shops!
Decide if you would like to visit the Garden of Caesar Augusts or the Punta Tragara, both very easy walks, or if you prefer something a little more challenging. If so, head up to the Villa Jovis to visit the ruins of Tiberius’ most important imperial villa. Afterwards, you may choose to visit Anacapri, where you can pick between two adventures. For those unafraid of heights, a chair lift may be the absolute highlight of your day. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the top in single chairs silently gliding through the sky with the amazing vista below of the bluest Mediterranean seas and the whitest, highest cliffs with colourful houses perched in the most impossible places.

The second option takes you to Villa San Michele, the charming former home of Swedish doctor and philanthropist Axel Munthe (1857-1949) that Henry James called “the most fantastic beauty, poetry, and inutility that one had ever seen clustered together“. The villa is set around Roman-style courtyards, marble walkways, and atriums. Medieval choir stalls, Renaissance lecterns, and gilded statues of saints are all part of the setting, with some rooms preserving the doctor’s personal memorabilia. A spectacular pergola path overlooking the entire Bay of Naples leads from the villa to the famous Sphinx Parapet, where an ancient Egyptian sphinx looks out toward Sorrento.
When you time in Capri is over, you will take the hydrofoil to Naples were your ship is doked.
Obviously I’ll spot you the best sceneries, photo stop, were you can eat the local food in a family restaurant were you can taste the “ fresh pasta strips with shellfich, tipical of this are fish or shellfish based menus: pezzogna all’aqua pazza (local fish cooked with tomato, garlic and parsley), grilled seabass, marinated anchovies, chowder, soutée of clams, octopus cooked with tomato and garlic, etc..

I will be waiting inNaples port ( with a sign your name) or your hotel , then we’ll drive to Pompeii, once a thriving empire, the city of Pompeii had about 20,000 inhabitants in 79AD, when it was completely covered in 30 feet of volcanic ash by the deadly eruption of the Mount Vesuvius. Then we’ll drive to Herculaneum, an ancient residential town of Greek origins, and has also become an important stop for those tourists wishing to steep themselves in history. Destroyed and buried in ashes, together with Pompeii, by the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Herculaneum also offers a variety of beautiful scenery and invaluable arts. Strangley, excavations began by accident in 1709 when some workers were digging a well – they discovered a wall, obiously old and out of site for hundreds of years, which was later found to be one of the stages of the ancient theatre.

Then we’ll drive by Mount Vesuvius were you can view the crater of Vesuvius which stands 1281 meters above sea level. Our cars can take you half way up this climb and you can tackle the rest on foot by walking for approximately 45 minutes up the steep mount; the view from the top makes the effort more than worthwhile!

This Private Tuscany Shore Excursion from Livorno will take you to the two most classic sights of Tuscany: Florence and Pisa. The marvellous Florence is the cradle of the Renaissance and there is no doubt that Florence is the single city with the highest concentration of art in the world. Not only its museums and monument are a “must see” for any traveller coming to Florence, but the city as a whole features an incomparable beauty, that made Florence become famous as the most elegant city in the world. The Tuscany shore excursion will also take you to Pisa with the Miracle Square and the Leaning Tower or Pisa, Cathedral, Baptistery and “Campo Santo” form the architectural complex which commonly gets Pisa to be considered one of the most important art cities in the whole of Europe not just in Tuscany or Italy.
Florence keeps an exceptional artistic heritage which is a marvellous evidence of its aged culture. Cimabue and Giotto, the fathers of Italian painting, lived in Florence as well as Arnolfo and Andrea Pisano, brining innovation to architecture and sculpture; Brunelleschi, Donatello and Masaccio forefathers of the Renaissance operated in Florence, Ghiberti and the Della Robbia worked in Florence, Filippo Lippi and Angelico were based in Florence; Botticelli, Paolo Uccello made of Florence their home and the universal genius of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo are surely the 2 names to which Florence is more commonly associated to, together with those of many other generations of artists up to the artists of our century, are gathered in the several Florence museums of the town: the Uffizi, the most selected gallery in the world and main Florence museum, the Palatina gallery with the paintings of the “Golden Ages”. The Bargello, once the political building of Florence with the sculptures of the Renaissance, the museum of San Marco with Angelico’s works, the Academy, the chapels of the Medicis once the rulers of Florence, Buonarroti’s house with the sculptures of Michelangelo, the following Florence museums: Bardini, Horne, Stibbert, Romano, Corsini, The Gallery of Modern Art, The museum of the Opera del Duomo, the museum of Silverware and the museum of Precious Stones. Florence boasts many other great monuments and landmarks of its artistic culture: the Baptistry with its mosaics; Florence Cathedral with its sculptures, the medieval churches with bands of frescoes; public as well as private palaces: Palazzo Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Palazzo Davanzati; monasteries, cloisters, refectories; the “Certosa”. The archaeological museum of Florence includes documents of Etruscan civilization.
In fact the Florence is so rich in art that some first time visitors experience the Stendhal syndrome as they encounter its art for the first time.
Pisa was a flowering town in the Middle Ages. The greatest legacy is it’s unique architecture and art. The Duomo of Pisa was the first cathedral in Tuscany where the innovative “Pisan-Romanesque” stile was fully developed and later copied in dozens of the Tuscany’s other churches. Inside, the main feature is the elaborate pulpit. The Baptistery of Pisa, in front of the facade contains anther Pisano’s lovely pulpit. You may want to also visit the Camposanto (holy field), a monumental cemetery said to have been filled by dirt brought by the Pisan crusaders from the Hill of Cavalry in Jerusalem.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa probably carries the most legends of buildings of its kind; perhaps it was deliberately constructed to lean. Perhaps Galileo let objects of different weights fall from the tower and timed the fall to demonstrate his theories about bodies in motion. Pisa leaning tower is said to lean approximately 14 feet from the perpendicular. Climbing the tower is surely an evocative experience, and time permitting should not be missed. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is the only building in the world where one could get out at each single level and walk around its exterior 360°.

Please note that if a mass is being taken, the entrance may be restricted, that the Museum’s are closed on sunday (except the last Sunday of the month) and Saturday afternoon. In this cases the itinerary may be altered to accomodate local conditions.
